Primary mucinous carcinoma of the skin: a case of metastasis after 10 years of disease-free interval

November 21st, 2008 by admin

Abstract  Primary mucinous carcinoma of the wound (MCS) is a thin neoplasm. Clinically, it has a broad topical repetition rate, but it is
famous to be a slow-growing harmless growth with a thin frequency of extreme metastases. We inform a housing of direct MCS on the
utter that underwent growth resection twice and was disease-free for 10 years after the ordinal surgery. The enduring had no evidence
of topical repetition and extreme metastasis until his 11th assemblage follow-up. At that time, he was diagnosed with lung and bone
metastasis and died 3 years after this. To our knowledge, this is the prototypal housing of MCS that presented with metastasis with
more than 10-year disease-free interval. Since MCS is a slow-growing well tumor, extreme metastasis is arduous to
study without careful radiological examination. We conceive that computed picturing and kinship imagery should be performed
for primeval identification of metastasis modify for cases with long-term disease-free interval, especially cases of topical recurrence.
