Protein that provides innate defense against HIV could lead to new treatments

(Emory University) The HIV-1 accelerator Vpu is needed for the HIV-1 virus to be free from manlike cells. Scientists hit identified CAML as a manlike cancellated accelerator that blocks the promulgation of HIV-1 viral particles from the membrane of pussy cells. The Vpu accelerator is healthy to contain the personalty of CAML and earmark the promulgation of HIV-1 particles. Understanding how CAML provides an innate accumulation against retrovirus and how Vpu counteracts this accumulation should support scientists amend newborn treatments.
