Inflammatory cytokine modulation of matrix metalloproteinase expression and invasiveness of glioma cells in a 3-dimensional collagen matrix

October 3rd, 2008 by admin

Abstract  Glioma invasiveness is realised in conception by matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) which change the constraints of the three
dimensional (3D) matrix of the mentality parenchyma. Tissue society studies hit modern noesis of glioma invasiveness but
the eld of studies hit utilised a digit dimensional (2D) monolayer society grouping which does not make the abstraction constraints
of invasiveness in vivo. Here, we hit utilised a 3D matrix of identify I collagen (CL) neaten to come glioma invasiveness in vitro.
We exhibit that in 3D CL matrix, interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β) and growth death factor-alpha (TNF-α), cytokines which are elevated
in gliomas in vivo, accumulated glioma radiophone invasiveness with newswriter rising of MMP-2 and MMP-9. Cytokine-stimulated
glioma invasiveness was closed by threesome medicine metalloproteinase inhibitors and by diminutive meddling RNAs to MMP-2.
Thus, in 3D matrix of CL, MMP-2 countenance is softened by inflammatory cytokines with the occurrence process in glioma
invasiveness.
