Tufts researchers discover link between DNA palindromes and disease

(Tufts University) Long polymer sequences, or palindromes, modify the appearance of the mote from threefold curve to hairpin-like formation, which causes copy to stall. Altered or stalled copy causes chromosomal breaking, resulting in cancers and diseases.
