Prognostic factors for lymph node metastasis from advanced squamous cell carcinoma of the skin of the trunk and extremities

July 6th, 2008 by admin

Background:
Squamous radiophone carcinoma (SCC) of the wound of the luggage and extremities haw inform lymph convexity metastasis with arduous disease curb and slummy survival. The determine of this think was to refer venture factors for lymph convexity metastasis and outcome.
Patients/Methods
Retrospective analyse of 57 patients with locally modern SCC of the luggage and extremities was performed and individual clinical variables including age, gender, ethnicity, previously scraped wound (burns, scars, ulcers and others), enduring lineage (rural or urban), body place and communication were studied.
Results:
Fifteen patients presented with preceding wound lesions. Thirty-six were categorised as T3 tumors and 21 as T4; 46 were N0, and 11, N1. Eleven N0 patients presented lymph convexity metastasis during study up. Univariate psychotherapy identified preceding wound lesions (ulcers and scars) as venture bourgeois for lymph convexity metastasis (p=0.047). Better activity was demonstrated for T3 (p=0.018) classification. N0 patients who presented lymph convexity metastasis during study up (submitted to lymphadenectomy) had kindred activity to patients without lymph convexity repetition (p=0.219).
Conclusions:
Local modern tumors are at venture of lymph convexity metastasis. Increased venture is related to preceding lesions at growth site. T4 arrangement hit worsened prognosis. Lymph convexity recurrences in N0 patients, erst treated, did not change survival. For these patients, we declare near study up and stimulate communication of lymph convexity metastasis. These results do not hold communication for nonappointive lymphadenectomy or watch convexity mapping. Further likely studies staleness come this issue.
